I thoroughly enjoyed this enlightening novel set in Western Australia during WW2. It’s a beautiful love story sandwiched between the horrors of war and the plight of those left to fend at home. I was intrigued by what went on at the POW camp, and how the Sleeman family pulled through the tough times in spite of the prejudice of some of the locals. It’s fact-based historical fiction with a romantic twist! I loved it! The ending had all the feels!
